Our Print Service

From the moment we hear from you we aim to provide a dedicated service that goes beyond one-click printing by treating each job with the utmost care and attention, ensuring that no details in size or quality go unseen and the finished job meets your needs.

We use a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 large format printer with the LUCIA PRO 12-colour Ink system, which enables us to offer high quality fine art (giclée) and photographic prints on both sheets and rolls up to 44’’ (approx. 1.2m) wide.

Paper

At any one time we keep a selection of archival and non-archival paper types available, such as photo rag, gloss and satin papers, with a range of different textures, weights and finishes to suit almost all needs. If you have something more specific in mind we are always happy to discuss other paper options, and if you are unsure what paper to use or which will look best we can also provide advice and test prints to help you make the right decision.

In addition to our range of papers we also print on canvas, which can be stretched to be directly hung or framed. Click here to find out more.

We aim to check the sustainability of all our papers, and where available request FSC certificates for the papers that we use. If you would like to use a sustainably sourced paper for your print, then please let us know and we can advise you on which are suitable.

What is a Giclée Print?

Giclée is a French word that means ‘to spray’, and is used to describe the process of precise inkjet printing. When people mention a ‘giclée print’ they are referring to a print that includes 3 factors: a resolution of 300dpi (dots per inch) or above, a high-quality printer that combines 8-12 ink cartridges and an archival acid-free paper to ensure the print is presented at its very best.

Our Professional Scans

If you are a serious artist who wants to sell prints of your artwork or someone who loves a picture or painting so much that you want to make a copy for friends or family, then a professional scan is the best way to digitally capture that image, not only to preserve it but also so you can reproduce it again and again.

This service is perfect for large artworks and includes a digital copy and a test print so you can see the finished results.

Although it is not impossible to produce a like-for-like print of an original image, often that process can take countless hours of retouching and adjustments, not to mention a hefty bill to ensure the final results. At Meaco Picture Framers we want to give you the best possible results for the image you would like to reproduce at a price that suits your budget, but it is important to note that there can be slight variations when undergoing this process.

Walls are not just for pictures – if you have something sentimental or unique and would like to give it pride of place on your wall, then take a look at our Bespoke Framing and Specialist Services pages. Want to learn more? Visit our showroom.
